CIVIL ENGINEERING IN NICE COMPETITION

The Civil Engineering Category of the National Innovation Competition in Engineering (NICE) is a cornerstone of the annual event hosted by the Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University. It provides a competitive and inspiring platform for undergraduate students to present innovative and sustainable solutions to real-world infrastructure and environmental challenges. Through this category, NICE aims to highlight the significance of Civil Engineering in building resilient and sustainable communities across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The Civil Engineering section covers a diverse range of subcategories, including Structural Engineering, Material Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Sustainable Construction, Geotechnical Engineering, and Highway Engineering. These fields reflect the diversity and depth of Civil Engineering, encouraging participants to think critically, creatively, and sustainably as they tackle modern construction and infrastructure challenges.

Projects are evaluated based on several common criteria, including Documentation, Originality and Creativity, Oral Presentation, Stand Design, Technical Skills, Usability, Functionality, and their Relation to Sustainable Development. These criteria ensure that student projects not only demonstrate academic excellence but also practical value and relevance to future engineering practices.
